Fernando Varela de Ugarte is Doctor of Industrial Engineering, specialized in economic and social development and sustainability. He manages studies and technical assistances for different national and international institutions. He was director of the global Institutional, Economic and Social Development department of Eptisa, where he conducts works for multilateral and bilateral development organisms.

He has collaborated to researches on Economy, Business and Development with several think tanks. He has also worked for the public sector (European Union) and collaborated with the civil society. He has driven several public-private alliances and social initiatives. He’s author of various books and papers.
